You will need to contact the surgery directly for advise on the Doctors and Nurses clinic times and the various appointment options available to you.

Extended Hours

We are offering extended hours at the surgery on Monday evenings and Wednesday evening, According to guidance from NHS England, the following "rules" will have to be followed:

  • Extend opening hours for the routine pre-bookable appointments.
  • We cannot undertake non-NHS Work in extended hours, so for example we would not be able to do HGV medicals

Ilford Lane Surgery will be offering Extended Hours every Monday  from 6.30pm to 7.30pm. and Wednesdays 6.30-7.30 (Telephone appointments).

When we are closed

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.

NHS 111 is 24-hour advice help line for all medical problems. Simply dial 111.

In an emergency, and when the surgery is closed, please call the practice as usual where you will find details on the answer phone of our out of hours service or ring:

  • 0330 1004471 between 8.00am -6.30pm
  • 111 between 6.30pm -8.00am

Other than in a life threatening emergency where you should dial 999, please use these services before attending the A&E department at the nearest hospital.

Your pharmacist is qualified to give you expert advice on minor ailments.

Accident and emergency departments: Hospital A&E departments are for serious accidents and emergencies, NOT minor injuries or health problems. Patients will be prioritised according to the urgency of their case.

NHS 111

111 online is a fast and convenient alternative to the 111 phone service and provides an option for people who want to access 111 digitally. 

Your needs will be assessed and you will be given advice about whether you need:

  • Treat yourself at home
  • Go to a Primary Care Centre

If you need face to face medical attention you may be asked to attend a Primary Care Centre.
