Try the New NHS App

If you’re a patient at our practice you can now use the new NHS App, a simple and secure way to access a range of NHS services on your smartphone or tablet.  

You can use the NHS App to check your symptoms and get instant advice, book appointments, order repeat prescriptions, view your GP medical record and more.
If you already use www.patientaccess.com you can continue to use it. You can use the NHS App as well. For more information go to www.nhs.uk/nhsapp
 
Out of area registration scheme
The out of area registration scheme launched by the government is voluntary and this practice has chosen to participate in this scheme. This means we are  able to register patients living outside our catchment area, however this is discretionary and may not be appropriate for all patients. Please speak to one of our receptionists for more information

Other Services

Maternity/Pregnancy - all the doctors carry out antenatal and postnatal care in conjunction with the midwife. If you think you are pregnant, Please make an appointment to see the doctor who will then start the booking process. Please refer to our practice leaflets and  to the pregnancy care planner on this website. If you have any concerns regarding your pregnancy see the doctor or midwife.

Contraception - all doctors offer contraceptive services. Should you require any contraception, from "the pill" to sterilisation (including vasectomy), please arrange to see the doctor. It is important that all women taking the contraceptive pill see the nurse at least every 6 months for a contraceptive review which may include a blood pressure check. It is your responsibility to ensure that you make your appointment in plenty of time so that you do not run out of your pill. If you have any questions or concerns, please make an appointment with the doctor or nurse.

Please note the contraceptive pill is not a routine repeat prescription and you must be seen.

Contraceptive Implants and Coil Fittings: One of our doctors is trained to on contraceptive implants and coil fitting. Two appointments are necessary for this. Please ring reception for more details

blood_takingPhlebotomy - We are located in a polyclinic which has a phlebotomy service for the Redbridge residents. Please call on 0300 300 1700 to book an appointment.

Health Checks - we encourage and offer patients to have health checks as follows:

  • NHS health Checks - these are for patients aged 40-74 please check with reception to see if you are eligible.
  • Patients over the age of 75 - once a year unless you are being seen regularly.
  • All patients - every 3 years if you have not been seen for another reason.
  • Well Person Checks

    Any patient between the age of 16 – 75 who has not attended the surgery for a period of three years or more is invited to make arrangements to attend for a basic health assessment. Similarly for patients over the age of 75 who have not attended for one year or more a health check will be made available on request, which will usually take place at the surgery.  Where attendance is not possible a home visit can be organized.

  • Citizens Advice Bureau Clinics: We work closely with the Citizens Advice Bureau and have set up clinics fortnightly on a Thursday for our patients to receive advise on various problem such as: allowances, benefits, housing etc

FIT FOR FUN:

We have recently started Free Fit for Fun classes for our patients, this was in conjunction with our patient participation Group and public health. The Classes are held at the following Venue on Saturdays:

Ilford Methodist Church, Ilford Lane, Ilford, Essex, IG1 2JZ

Talking Therapies/IAPT

Talking Therapies

Talking Therapies is the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies service provided by NELFT NHS Foundation Trust and commissioned by BHS Clinical Commissioning Groups in Barking and Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge. They offers a free and confidential evidence based psychological therapy service for people who are 18 years of age and over and who are feeling low, suffering from work stress, have money worries or have difficulty sleeping.

We are working with the IAPT services and have offered one of our clinical rooms for them to hold their clinics at IIford Lane Surgery. Our patients now have the advantage of attending  the clinics at the surgery rather than going to the hospital.

CITIZENS ADVICE BUREAU (CAB) CLINICS EVERY THURSDAY PM

These clinics are run to help patients who need help outside of primary care. Such as issues with housing, debt etc
